All these images were taken in Knapdale Forest.  These beavers were the original ones released for the main trial.  This didn't make them any easier to find but I had an advantage in that my friend, David Kent of Great Glen Wildlife, was the Wildlife Ranger in Knapdale Forest back in the 60's.

I was amazed how big they are and how industrious.  Their lodges and dams are fantastic.  The images at the end are evidence of the presence of beavers!

I am pleased to say that, after about 7 years, they have  been given the official go-ahead.

There is also a fast expanding population of 'unofficial' beavers on Teeside.  I have yet to see them.
